Official announcements from Mysuru City Police: road closures, parking and timings.
Jumboo Savari on 21 Oct: city-centre roads close to private vehicles from 11 am
Closed from 11 am: Sayyaji Rao Road from K R Circle to Bannimantap (the procession route), Albert Victor Road and the Palace ring roads, Ashoka Road and Dhanwantri Road around Devaraja Market, and B N Road from the Central Bus Stand to K R Circle. Two-wheelers are stopped at the same checkpoints. Emergency vehicles, festival shuttles and resident pass holders are allowed. Nandi Dhwaja puja is around 1:36 pm and the procession leaves the Palace after the 4:10 pm pushparchane. Watch free along Sayyaji Rao Road; arrive by 1 pm with water and a hat.

The festival opens at the Chamundeshwari Temple. Expect restricted traffic on the hill road through the morning; use KSRTC buses from the city bus stand or the 1,000 steps. Visitors without passes may enter the temple after the ceremony.

Amba Vilas Palace is lit from 7 to 10 pm from 11 to 21 October, with cultural programmes on the Palace stage from 5 pm. Sayyaji Rao Road gets crowded after 6 pm: park at Oval Grounds or Maharaja College Grounds and walk, or take the free shuttle.

The food festival is open 11 am to 10 pm with free entry, and cards and UPI are accepted at stalls. Parking at Maharaja College Grounds, JLB Road (₹50 car, ₹20 two-wheeler).

Open 9 am to 9 pm near the railway station; entry is free. Weekend evenings are the busiest, so come in the morning with children.

Short traffic holds around Town Hall and Chamaraja Road between 7 and 9 am while groups move through the old city. Park at Scouts & Guides, Chamaraja Road.

Entry by ticket (₹1,000) from the official tickets page only. Personal drones remain banned across the city; anyone flying one near the venue will be stopped. Park at the Bannimantap hub.

Races start at 9 am. Expect heavy traffic on the approach road from 8 am; follow police diversions and park only in the marked area.

Gallery entry by ticket or pass (₹1,500). Gates open in the afternoon; fireworks around 9 pm. Large bags are not allowed. After the show, leave by the marked exits and use the shuttles from the Bannimantap hub.
